Success and Significance

Most successful people I know struggle with some form of guilt that they need to be more significant. They made millions of dollars through the years and realize that money doesn’t buy happiness. Significance enters their minds; maybe for the first time in their lives.

The problem is that it is hard for them to simply become significant overnight. It usually takes years for them to understand who they are. Most of these people start trying to be significant by focusing on giving money thinking that charity will lead to fulfillment. The reality is that the game has changed and they don’t know the new rules.

Success is a winning performance vs. others (a person, a company, etc.).
Significance is impact on others through positive influence.

It is possible to be both successful and significant? Certainly.

Imagine a group of leaders who understand success as being excellent in order to build a platform that is useful to significantly impact others for their best interest. That group of leaders could change companies, communities and maybe a nation. In order to do that, one must have a proper understanding of success while they are practicing their significance.
