Drought Resistant Leaders - Part II

Have you ever faced a stern, brisk wind? I have. Growing up in the plains provides numerous opportunities to deal with wind - lots of it.

A drought resistant leader has a few options when facing a stiff, negative wind. You can run away, stand still or lean into it while moving forward. I can seriously remember walking outside into a fierce wind and just standing there. I couldn’t keep my feet planted. Sheer wind gusts can throw you back quite dramatically.

There is really no good outcome if you yield to the first two options. Standing still or running away add no value to your cause.

Lean into the problems you are having. Lead with a certain tenacity and resiliency that makes progress even if it is just one step at a time. There are ways to move forward in tough times - leaning into the wind is one way to start being a drought resistant leader.

Wanting the best for you!
