Happy New Year. It’s time to start.
Some of you are kicking off a new calendar year for your business, while others are in midstream. Here is a great exercise you can use to kick off 2010 with resolve.
Imagine yourself in a locker room with your teammates prior to the start of a significant game. The coach walks in and begins to give you and your team a pep talk to start the game with momentum. Now the coach walks over to you and pinpoints what the team needs from you to win the game. What would that coach say to you specifically to help you and the team to win?
Here is an example of what a coach would say to me:
“Jeremie, 2010 is going to be a great year. 2009 is over. You cannot control it, but you can control one thing - you can give yourself away so that the team benefits. Empower people. Give the vision away. Celebrate teamwork and raise up your leaders as much as possible. Stay focused and grow the business. This is the year that we have been waiting for, now give it your best effort.”
Take 3 minutes and write down your pep talk and then get out there and start your new year. Happy New Year!

Jason,
2010 will be a breakout year spiritually and in business. This year have the mentality of “Strategic, Intentional, Increase-my-Faith” focus to your life. Be the leader on the sales team. Serve the new employees. Show your face often. Do not be afraid to speak. Exercise your influence. Go for it. Take those “faith-increasing” steps. Share the gospel more with clients this year. Pray for 1M+ closed by year end. Bust your butt. Rest. Recover and leave it all on the table. Don’t be afraid to think you can be a real leader. Seek the counsel of wise and learned men. Think. Think. THINK. Strategically, how do I maximize my time and influence. Do. Do things and stay grounded with the enjoyment of My daily presence. God loves you. Stay humble, but go and kick some butt.
