I really enjoyed this book for its bluntness. There are too few books that focus on potential negatives in a realistic and practical level. The reality is that we all know OTHERS that are possibly derailing. Half way through the book you will stop thinking about others and start looking within. I love when that happens. Enjoy!

I like John’s new book. He takes a new direction in leadership and pauses a bit to make us stop and think about our dreams. It was a healthy process for me and I like the way the book is laid out to help you work through them. Good book to take on a trip.

The Generosity Factor

The Generosity Factor
Truett Cathy & Ken Blanchard

5 Stars

This is a great story. I had the privilege of reading this while in the Truett Cathy suite at the Summit (a Cathy retreat resort that serves as a respite for leaders). As I was reading I was amazed at the concept of the Generosity Factor. It is exactly how I view generosity - that it is more than money. If you want to understand a better way to do business and a better way to live, read this book!

3 Big Questions of a Frantic Family

3 Big Questions of a Frantic Family
Patrick Lencioni

4 Stars

This is a great book to start your year off by thinking about what you want for your family. I found the application of this book quite helpful for me and my wife. This book speaks my language much more so than some traditional family periodicals. If you want to take your family to the next level, this is a great resource.

Failing Forward

Failing Forward
John Maxwell

5 Stars

Failing Forward is one of the gutsiest books I have read. No one likes to talk about Failure. John Maxwell takes a tough subject and makes a case for perspective, mindset changes and honest truth. This should be in every leaders library.

Island of Saints

Island of Saints
Andy Andrews

4 Stars

Andy Andrews delivers an outstanding book on history, leadership, forgiveness and in the US around WWII. I am very impressed with how Andy brings inspiration and real facts into what seems to be a fictional story. An amazing ending leads to this being a great read to diversify your reading library.

Powerful book on the Presidents with great insights on topics such as: does character enhance the effectiveness of a president; how much personality plays into the role; etc. This book does an excellent job of comparing the Presidents to each other. Great read with many historical facts that you may have never known.

The most intriguing book of the year. This book will change the way you look at things, from leaders to brands to society. Fascinating.
